Cancellation & Refund Policy

When you book an artist on Book My Artist, a 50% advance deposit secures the date. This policy explains when deposits and balances are refundable if a booking is cancelled, and what happens if an artist cancels. All refunds are processed in Indian Rupees (₹) through our payment partner Razorpay.

If a client cancels a confirmed booking, the refund of the deposit depends on how far in advance the cancellation is made:

• 30+ days before the event: 80% of the deposit is refunded.
• 15–30 days before the event: 50% of the deposit is refunded.
• Less than 15 days before the event: No refund of the deposit.
• On the event day / no-show: No refund.

The balance amount, if not yet paid, is automatically cancelled with no charge to the client.

If an artist cancels a confirmed booking, the client receives a full refund of any amount paid (deposit and balance). Repeated artist cancellations count as strikes and may lead to account review or suspension under our warning system.

If an artist does not arrive for a confirmed booking, the client is entitled to a full refund. The client may file a dispute through the platform, and our admin team will investigate and process the refund after verification.

Approved refunds are initiated through Razorpay within 7–10 working days of verification. The time taken to reflect in your account depends on your bank and may take additional business days. Refunds are credited to the original payment method only.

Cancellations due to events beyond reasonable control — natural disasters, government restrictions, or other force majeure events — will be reviewed case by case. Where possible, we will help reschedule the booking rather than cancel it.

Either party may raise a dispute through the platform for issues such as no-show, payment problems, or performance concerns. Our admin team reviews disputes and determines refunds in line with this policy.

We may update this policy from time to time. The refund terms that apply are those in effect at the time of booking confirmation.
